By accepting all the negative emotions instead of just sidelining it helps one de-stress better. Anger, disappointments, stress and frustration if accepted, don’t linger in the mind and bother you again later. During the process of mindfulness meditation we learn to accept difficult situations easily.

This way our stress levels are lowered in an easier way. This type of meditation doesn’t teach us escapism by avoiding situations. Through this process of meditation we train our minds to reach a state of serenity that the body demands.

We have to sit in an upright posture, cross legged and focus on our breathing pattern; this helps us to focus on present situations instead of emphasizing on past event. Emphasizing on past events and events that can occur in the future might increase stress levels instead of reducing it. It trains the mind to block any disturbances that might surround you.

Stress increases the secretion of the stress hormone, cortisol, in the body. This in turn increases the oil production in the body which leads to oily skin. Oily skin leads to problems like acne and dullness. It is also found that stress leads to water loss which decreases the skin’s ability to repair itself. Stress can also lead to dryness of skin which in turn could lead to wrinkles. Even hair loss increases due to stress. Stress also leads to brittle finger nails.

Meditation is one of the best stress busters. Meditation calms the senses and reduces tension. The reduction of stress leads to less oil secretion in the body. The lesser oil the body secretes the less oily the skin becomes.
