Worst Celebrity Hair in 2011

Celebrities make their money by being famous and doing things to make them more famous. Part of that business is going out to major events and being seen around town. This generates photos and chatter for the media, it gives the celebrity more press, and eventually it generates more leads for the celebrity, especially if he or she is an actor. However, this whole business plan goes a bit south when the celebrity goes out the door looking stupid. Then the whole affair backfires. In 2011 there were plenty of examples.

There’s no doubt that Katy Perry has to be on the awful hair list. As her marriage with Russell Brand deteriorated, Katy’s hairstyle also seemed to go in the same direction from a 50s black doo to a goofball pink wig.

Sharon Stone didn’t do herself any favors with her hairstyle at the 2011 Oscars. Trying to attend with a conservative style and her hair pulled up, instead Stone looked like the queen of the undead with her front bangs going straight up in a wall coif crown.

Rihanna, the hip hop singer, made plenty of news with her relationship or lack thereof in 2010, but in 2011 much of the attention was on her hair. Her red locks kept getting longer, and longer, and longer. If the length keeps growing, she’s going to have to make up some lyrics that rhyme with an urban Rapunzel. Of course they’re hair extensions, but at some point she’s got to notice they’re getting down to her toes.

Someone keeps telling Christina Aguilera that peroxide blonde looks good on her. Unfortunately, the human scalp and hair can only take so much frying before it begins to die. In 2011 it’s becoming more and more apparent the singer needs let her remaining locks go back to natural. Otherwise, one of these days she’s going to go a patchy bald.

At some point Anne Heche thought it would different to step out for the evening with a gigantic afro-perm of blond hair. Well, it was different. It wasn’t necessarily attractive or complimentary to her appearance. That said, given the actress’ history, people probably figured it was just another normal day for Heche.
