In my opinion, the Bob Haircut is a classic that is versatile and can be cut to suit any woman. And, judging by the number of Bobs I notice on celebrities, other women think the same too. I think the Bob is the most stylish haircut worn by celebrities today.

I’ve noticed versatile Chinese Bobs with a blunt cut at the neck and bobbed along the sides. Victoria Beckham has an A-line bob haircut with the hair longer in front. Anna Wintour’s wears a Page Boy with longer sides and the bangs cut right above her eyes.

The Bob was not always a popular haircut among celebrities. At on time, if a woman cut her hair short it was thought of as an act of rebellion. The first time a celebrity wore a Bob was in 1910. The French actress Polaire bobbed her hair short and shocked her fellow colleagues.

In 1920, wearing a Bob was still considered a shocking statement of independence, but, when actress Collen Moore cut her long hair short, more movie stars adopted the short cut and it become socially popular.

Celebrities abandoned the Bob cut in the 1930s and didn’t wear them again until Vidal Sasson revived the style in the 1960s. Soon, the Bob was seen on actresses Carolyn Jones and Barbara Feldon. Since the, celebrities such as Madonna, Linda Ronstadt, Cyndi Lauper and Uma Thurman have sported their Bobs in varying colors, lengths and styles.

Recently, I’ve noticed more celebrities on the Red Carpet wearing the most stylish Bob haircuts. Actress Sigourney Weaver parts her layered Bob in the center and pushes the hair back. Gwyneth Paltrow and Christina Ricca prefer their Bobs long and sleek without bangs. Sandra Bullock wears her Bob parted to the side with soft curls and waves. In my opinion, Paris Hilton, Katie Holmes and Selma Blair have the best classic Bobs. They cut their hair chin length with blunt cut bangs. But, Katie Perry took her Bob to a whole new place with loose waves and bright blue highlights.

Celebrities love their stylish Bob haircuts. They can experiment with the shape and texture to create a cut that is uniquely them. The simplicity of the Bob lends itself well to their versatile lives.
