7 Celebrities and Their Outrageous Haircuts (part 1)Posted on April 26, 2012 by admin in Hair Styles
While some celebrities always play it safe with their hair (Jennifer Aniston, anyone?) it seems like the stars who are known for being eccentric and creative love to let loose with their locks. We’re taking a look at some of the craziest and most creative celebrity hairstyles, from bows and bird’s nests to neon extensions and sculpted shapes.
1) Lady Gaga

Sometimes, Lady Gaga’s locks are so ornate and intricately designed that it’s hard to tell her hair from her hats. Such is the case with this ‘do, which mimics a wide-brimmed sunburst-style hat.
Literal Hair Bow
The hair bow, crafted from actual hair, might be Lady Gaga’s signature hairstyle. You can sculpt one yourself using lots of hairspray, or you can cheat and buy a clip-on accessory that looks like a bow made of hair.
Gaga’s telephone tresses are off the hook. She debuted this hairstyle in the video for her duet with Beyonce, “Telephone.” The phone was made out of yellow hair extensions and seemed to really strike a chord with fans.
The Marge Simpson
Gaga’s sky-high pile of blue hair caught everyone’s attention in 2011, and naturally drew comparisons to another iconic blue beehive maven, Marge Simpson.
2) Nicki Minaj
Cotton Candy Hair
Nicki Minaj is all about being creative with color when it comes to her eccentric hairstyles. Here, her cotton candy colored hair is piled on top of another straight style with a slightly darker shade of pink.
Minaj went all out for the 2011 Grammys, sporting this Bride of Frankenstein/animal print hybrid. The singer also donned a wild animal print outfit to match.
What might look like a rainbow scarf at first glance is actually layers of bright, primary-colored hair. Minaj must be channelling Rainbow Brite when it comes to her fun, bold hair colors.
At the 2011 American Music awards, Minaj showed off two-toned tresses, featuring a striking combination of white blonde and ice blue.
The Modern Mohawk
No matter what Rihanna does to her hair, the songstress always manages to pull it off with her cool confidence. Rihanna wears her modern Mohawk in a number of ways, sometimes slicked back for a two-toned punk look.
The Little Mermaid
Rihanna definitely favors bright crimson when it comes to hair color. Here, she’s left it long and sleek like Ariel from “The Little Mermaid.”
When you have a face as beautiful as Rihanna’s, you can stop tracks in a short style, like with this sculpted pompadour. The shaved sides also give this look a modern edge.
Flock of Seagulls
It’s long and curly on the top and short and shaved on the sides. Somehow this style is both eccentric and glamorous at the same time.
