Short Hair Styles Spring 2011

Spring is coming and with a change of seasons often comes the desire to shake up your style a bit. I know for me that often includes changing my hairstyle and going for a new look. There are some great short hair trends for spring 2011 and if you are in the mood for change you are definitely going to want to check these out.

In general, styles are moving toward a more casual and free look as opposed to the precise cuts that we have been seeing. One hot trend is going to be the pixie cut. This look is for you if you have a bold fun loving personality. The key to this cut is to go for broken edges and lots of texture so your hair is free to follow its natural movement. Wash it and put a little styling cream in and you are ready to go. I love this look as it is whimsical and playful. You also want to consider bangs with this look as this adds a youthful flair. They can be blunt and across the forehead or a lighter fringe. Either one will look amazing and really bring out your eyes.

Another hot look for short hair is a play on the pixie cut. With this cut you want to ask for short and close to the head from the crown back and longer layers in front- even as long as chin length. This is an amazing short cut in terms of versatility. I’m definitely thinking of trying this cut out because there are so many different ways to wear it. The front can be pulled up or for a seductive look, let the longer layers fall forward. If anyone ever said short hair was boring they did not consider this look.
